JOSE ACEVEDO - WRITER & DIRECTOR

Jose Acevedo is a writer, director and producer from the west side of Chicago. Most recently, he was an executive producer on Everything’s Trash for Freeform. His short film Eagle screened at festivals all over the country and won the Vimeo Award at the Urbanworld festival. Previously, he served as Head of Development at Tiny Reparations, Phoebe Robinson’s production company. Before that, he was a Director of Development at Comedy Central where he developed the shows Alternatino, The President Show and Ronny Chieng: International Student, to name a few. He lives in Brooklyn. 

GRACE LEESON - PRODUCER

Grace Leeson is an award winning producer and director. Her most recent feature, American Cats, premiered at Hot Docs and was the top international film in the audience award. She is also known for producing Lover of Men: The Untold Story of Abraham Lincoln. She has worked on Emmy nominated shows such as Full Frontal w/ Samantha Bee, It's Personal w/ Amy Hoggart, The Opposition w/ Jordan Klepper, Impractical Jokers, Indefensible w/ Jena Friedman, and Klepper. Her work is featured on networks like Vice News, TBS, TruTV, Sundance TV, IFC, Comedy Central, and much more. She loves producing live comedy shows such as DEAR KIKO and A GAY SHOW FOR ALL PEOPLE all over New York City. She is proud to be part of the team of Baquiné Friends Forever. 

JAMAL SOLOMON - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Brooklyn-born Jamal Solomon brings 12 years of dynamic cinematography to the screen, gaining accolades in the U.S. and abroad. His narrative accomplishments include HBO's "Flowers," which was showcased at the American Black Film Festival, "Angelfish" at TIFF Next Wave, and Tribeca-featured "As of Yet," and “Sea Lion Cow” which will premiere at the forthcoming 2024 Tribeca Film Festival as well. On the small screen, he's lent his vision to TV One's "UNCENSORED" and Disney Plus' Marvel series "MPower.” Honored with the Zeiss Precision Image Award, Jamal is relentless in refining every frame. His signature style marries raw beauty with visceral environments, making him a sought-after creative force behind the lens.

JOHN HIGGINS - EDITOR

Jon Higgins, ACE is a New York-based editor who has cut various feature films including YOUR MONSTER (Sundance 2024) and GRIFFIN IN SUMMER (Tribeca 2024), and television shows including SEARCH PARTY (Max) EMILY IN PARIS (Netflix), BROAD CITY (Comedy Central), and MY NEXT GUEST WITH DAVID LETTERMAN (NEFLIX) - for which he was nominated for an ACE Eddie Award. He is currently working on the television show DYING FOR SEX, starring Michelle Williams and Jenny Slate, which is planning to premiere in early 2025 on Hulu. As a writer/producer, his short film WITNESSES won the Critics Award at the New York Television Festival as well as Best Pilot at Seriesfest. Jon is a proud member of American Cinema Editors and the Motion Picture Editors’ Guild, as well as an enthusiastic gardener, vegan and feral cat house builder.

JULI REED - PRODUCTION DESIGNER

Juli grew up in Laguna Beach, CA and moved to NYC in 2013 to pursue work as an artist. Starting off her film career in the Scenic Painting department, Juli transitioned to Set Design after attending UNCSA, School of Design and Production for Scenic Design, receiving her MFA in 2021. Juli’s first job in the Art Department was on the Emmy Award winning show “Only Murders In The Building”, Season 1. For the past 3 years Juli has worked as the Assistant Art Director for “FBI: Most Wanted”, Seasons 3-5. While Juli worked in the Art Department on Network television, she has pursued other films and design opportunities to advance her abilities and career as a Production Designer. Collaborating with a team of creative individuals to create a memorable visual experience is what fuels Juli’s passion for making film.
